You can usually get away with putting the key in the ignition, turning the ignition on (not starting) then bashing the lock/unlock buttons a few times. However I don't know how you go about Key fob won't unlock the doors (all of them) but the rest of the buttons works fine (ie; trunk release, panic & lock). Hi. I parked my 2006 B6 (2.0 TDI 66k miles on clock) and pressed the lock button on the key fob and nothing happened. I pressed it a few times (lock - not unlock which I'm told can reset the key) but still nothing. Just replaced the battery in my key fob. I got into my car with the normal key, put the fob in the ignition and now it won't come out. Evidently I need to reprogram, but how can I get the key fob out? Update (10/20/2017): I realized my car battery was the issue. It was flatlined. Left headlight - 2006-2015 Volkswagen Passat Quick update. I removed the battery from my fob, put battery from wife's fob in mine, works! Changed batteries back, works again! So I guess the battery must have dislodged itself in my fob slightly. Still confused why the fob allowed me to lock the car but not unlock it. Anyway, problem solved. .
